Chief Operating Officer, David Noble explains how Touch Medical Media is using technology to respond to COVID-19 to maintain the flow of important medical education during a serious global challenge.
I recently shared an update directly with our current and prospective supporters of medical education outlining our response to coronavirus (COVID-19) and the implications the spread of the virus has on congress attendance and travel plans.
We recognise that the first priority of everyone involved in organising events is the safety of their own staff and that of the faculty, delegates and myriad of other service providers that support these events. Similarly, we are taking measures to ensure that our employees are safe and stay healthy.
The continuity of education across our therapy areas is however important to maintain. Given that we are ourselves are a virtual company we are more than expert in remote working and conferencing, we are now using our own work tools and other enhanced virtual meeting technologies to ensure that we maintain a steady flow of education around new data across the key therapy areas that we cover. We have already had faculty participate remotely in educational activities and we expect this to become the norm.
Today I am pleased to announce that our enabling technologies, along with those of our key partners, will be used to create ‘Virtual Congresses’. We are ready to respond quickly to that need with systems that allow ‘one to many’ broadcast of talks and slides, as well as enabling discussion between faculty and Q&A management from live audiences. We are busy:
Working with our partner societies and supporting pharmaceutical companies to help them find a solution if their congresses or activities cannot go ahead as a live event.
Providing innovative and engaging solutions to maximise virtual attendees educational experience
Ensuring that all content is recorded and disseminated widely OnDemand.
I am very proud to lead the operations for Touch Medical Media and to be able deliver on our promise to innovate at a time when that is the only way that we can keep important education available to HCPs.
